Changing The Font of Nokia 6680...Possible?

I want to change the font of my 6680 to something like that of the 6600 -- I have eye problems and it strains my eyes to write and read my messages in my phone -- my current dilemma though I so love the phone.

I like the 6600's font -- a lot thicker and easier to read.

Is there a third party application or a procedure to follow to make that possible?

Thanks in advance.

its possible to change the fonts on the nokia 3650/ngage etc, but since the 6680 is a newer version it could be possible. custom fonts are created on drive c:\system\fonts with a .gdr extension. warning though, make sure that you use a font remover because that particular folder is read-only.

hi, diba same lang font ng 6600 and 6630? So when you say that it works on your 6630 - meaning you were able to make it thinner? (like the 6680?)

tnx-1clk

I tried changing the font of my 6680. Not all fonts will change on the phone. You will notice that the font on a stanby screen still remains the same, but when entering a number on the dial pad. you will see the difference in font. i haven't really noticed whether in the messaging the font changes.

this is the font i used to enlarge the messaging text. however it will screw up the calendar dates... so you will see big 1's and 2''s only. so just use the font remover it you don't like it. sight enhancer.sis is the font installer for the font - luk.gdr. tested on my 3650. no virus, no worm etc...

note: if you format the phone while the font is still installed, only a soft
reset will happen. user/data files will not be deleted.

Code:

using Easy GDR Creater, you can have mixed font types... make sure that you pick fonts with "accents" (e.g.: ņ, Â,ό, etc.) and check symbol/unicode in Easy GDR Creater or else the accented fonts won't be visible.

ive had a similar problem with my n70 before and the people from nokia said its because of the chinese language support.i think they reflashed my phone and when i got it back, the fonts were nice and thick.i paid them php550 for it and had to wait for 2-3 hours with no spare fone.they gave me my sim card and my mmc. that was last march in nokia, digital exchange in glorieta.
hope this helps.

Try the following for 6680. Copied verbatim from another forum, props to him if it works.

Code:
you're right, this process doesn't change the font of 6680. As a remedy this is what I did with my 6680:

1. copy your desired font to folder c:\system\Fonts\ ( if directory doesn't exist, create it)

2. Once selected font is copied to the folder, rename this gdr file as 11x12_latin.gdr

3. redo process number 1.

4. redo process number 2 but this time, rename the desired font as 15x16_latin.gdr

5. you would then notice that you have now two files under folder c:\system\Fonts\ namely:
11x12_latin.gdr
15x16_latin.gdr

6. Finally, restart your phone to apply the font change.

7. Set fonts can be reverted back to the default phone font by using FontRemover application.
