Swedish hospital may ban Crocs clogs due to static electricity

STOCKHOLM, Sweden: A Swedish hospital wants to ban its staff from wearing Crocs plastic clogs, saying they generate static electricity that can knock out medical equipment, a spokesman said Thursday.

The slip-on shoes made by U.S.-based Crocs Inc. have become popular among hospital staff in Sweden after being introduced two years ago by Swedish hockey star Peter Forsberg.

But Blekinge hospital in southern Sweden suspects the clogs are to blame for at least three incidents in which respirators and other machines malfunctioned. The mishaps caused no injuries.

Hospital spokesman Bjorn Lofqvist said staff wearing the clogs could turn into "a cloud of lighting" because of the static electricity.

He said there were similar problems with other shoes not designed for hospital use, but the popularity of the Crocs had raised the issue to a new level.

Ganito rin yung nabili ko, kaso with red straps sya. But I like the All-Terrain yung brown-brown. Doc Cass pa tanong naman kung magkano yun. Para next time na mapdpad ako ng manila, daan ako ng Bonifacio High Street.

Let me correct myself... I was referring to the all-terrain pala and not the off-road.

Idol, hindi ko lang alam kung may all-terrain na brown-brown kasi brown/blk and blk/blk lang nakita ko sa BHS. Kapag nadaan ako sa greenhills tignan ko kung may brown/brown. 3700 yan. Comfy like any other crocs... Pero ang iiiniiiit pareee! Gumagamit na tuloy ako ng foot powder. Hahahaha

Just go to the sandals section and ask for the "Crocs" na butas butas.

Rey Marketing along C. Raymundo has fake Crocs too but slightly more expensive (Php 195.00) but more colors available.

Robinson's Dept Store Galleria has exact Crocs lookalike and more colors also but branded as "Noosa" and priced a little less than Php 500.00... I can post pictures later...
