How to clean window type aircon?

Pano ba maglinis ng window type aircon? balak ko sanang linisin yung aircon nmin kasi medyo di na gaano malamig yung labas ng hangin.

I clean our window-type aircon units myself.

Unplug aircon, take off the face plate, remove any security screws (sa side usually), unscrew grounding wire, remove drip tray if applicable (it's outside, where you attach the drip hose) slide out the main unit (really heavy), bring it outside, cover the switches and any exposed wires with plastic and tape.

Hose down the evaporator (front) and the radiator (back) until clean, some gentle brushing with soap and water might be needed. Avoid wetting the switches/electronics. Leave the unit under the sun and make sure it is completely dry before re-installing. I usually leave it out for two days.

My unit is split type and I was amazed, they wrapped this plastic shroud around the evaporator and flushed it clean in my room without dismantling. Galing. At the same time they flushed clean my condenser outside. Not bad for P750 and 2 hours work.

I had a friend who did this once, sabi ko palinis na lang nya, 350 lang naman ang singil e.

E mapilit pa rin yun friend ko and went ahead and cleaned it himself, ayun 1 month silang naka electric fan, hanggang sa nakaipon ng pambili ng piyesang nasira nya.

check the filter first baka kailangan linisin na.. if that doesnt work... better call na lang yun mga people who would provide cleaning service.. not unless you have a couple of strong guys to bring down your aircon and clean it.
