I'm from Pasay and I still get 2mbps during off-peak hours.

i'm planning of getting an internet broadband e pero ano ba maganda? isip ko kasi nga Sun na postpaid. kaso i already have a broadband account sa Sun pero hindi ako ang nagbabayad at gumagamit. pwede kaya na 2 accounts under my name?

saka isa pa pala, sulit po kaya yang SBW-50? pano kung let's say, 1 month? tinitignan ko kasi kung ano mas makakamura, kung yung ganyan na prepaid or yung P799/month plan nila. ang gamit ko ng internet everyday sa gabi then whole day kapag Sat/Sun.

    Gulong gulo na ko

If you can afford it..go for the 799/month..compared to 50 pesos per day..1500 din yun a month..also..you can do what I did..I got a 3G phone just for exclusive use of my SBW 799 sim..so I can still use it w/o a PC..skyfire lang katapat...facebook anywhere ka na..hehehe... :-) so nakaunlimited internet ka pa din with or without your pc..when I get home..I just insert it again on the USB modem for use naman on my PC..sa ganoon..sulit na sulit talaga yung 799/month mo....whether pre-paid or post-paid....imho good investment ang Sun Broadband Wireless unlimited..

malilimit lang to 384kbps ang speed ng internet nyan pag regular sim ang gamit mo (and make sure activated ang gprs and mms nyan before you load)

if you are using a HSPDA phone, bili ka ng SBW SIM kasi sure na up to 2Mbps un.

I got to try my SBW SIM on a GLobe Tattoo plugit in these areas and here's my comments:

    1. Caloocan Area (Grace Park District 2) - got 2Mbps on off peak hours and a never get a DL speed lower than that of 15kbps at times. Torrentwise it's steady and sometimes a drops in signal not unlike Smart of GLobe that's another story to tell. As a rule never DL more than 6 simultaneous downloads of large files ( 10MB up) on wireless broadband. It just slows down DL speed.

my average speeds : Steady HSDPA at 384Kbps/25kbps

    2. Fairview Area ( SM Fairview, Zabarte Area) - got 1.3Mps on off peak hours, DL not lower than 10kbps.

Average speeds : steady 3G, intermittent HSDPA at 220KBps/10kbps

    3. Marikina (Noritake area) and Antipolo (above TIkling crossing) - got 2Mbps off peak and DL rate is 84kbps.

Avearage speeds : Steady HSDPA, Steady 3G at 584KBps/84kbps

Hope this helps... as always, it is still location dependent on speeds of these USB modems. My speed may not be the same as your getting on same locations but you get an idea how will it fare in a current location.

I will try SBW in a netbook trailing down my path on GPS via Google Earth from Manila to Vigan one of these days.

SWB postpaid user for a year already.

    brgy sta cruz makati area:
    a. anytime except 9pm-12am - mabilis, spike upto 2mbps kung hindi naka cap to 30KBps pero unstable. stable kung naka-cap to 30KBps. minsan mas gusto ko pang naka-cap nalang sya kasi tuloy tuloy lang unlike pag hindi, nagdra-drop to 0kbps. not recommended for torrent upto 10KBps only.

    b. 9pm-12am - very unstable. not usable. 0-2KBps only. not sure bakit ganito. everytime yan. daily. basta umabot ng 9pm drop to 0kbps na connection.

waltermart makati & starbucks @ the columns ayala-buendia area - mabilis and stable ang connection.

used to be a SUN Broadband postpaid subscriber.
disconnected it since I am not fully utilizing their unlimited internet use.
average monthly use ko eh 40~45 hours eh.

also capped sya sa 256kbps pag peak hours. labo nga eh. kaya bagsak prepaid ako.

As far as I know the regular SIM isn't possible for using on USB plugits.
YOu can buy SBW Prepaid SIMs on any Sun Wireless Center near you. It cost around Php50 with free 5hours of wireless broadband access.

am using a regular prepaid sim, ok naman sya, though ang pag load nung sbw card is like mag load ka ng reg call card. di pwede yung sa instructions on the back side of the sbw card. (regular sim but not yung 29bucks)

I've tried 1 of those 29peso-sim, cant get it to work. maybe yung regular sim lang but not yung super budget sim. hth.

You have loaded a SBW100 special card now with 3-days Unlimited Internet Usage. Your account will expire on 11/10/2010 21:43.

Tsk
