I've chanced upon reviews of some Samsung digicams before, and if I remember correctly, those particular models were rated as passable although not particularly impressive. The additional features do not necessarily translate into better image quality or improved usability. In terms of features, performance & pricing, they're deemed to be comparable to those GE digicams that are also proliferating in the market. It's their more competitive pricing (although at the expense of image quality & performance) that makes them a viable alternative to those other brands you mentioned.

I believe that some of the not-so-recent models of the Canon Powershot A-series, Fujifilm Finepix & Nikon Coolpix (or even Casio Exilim) are already within the budget that you mentioned. If so, those would give you better value-for-money and would be a more worthwhile investment.

just get a canon. proven quality pictures even sa mga affordable model line-up nila. you can also browse sa trading section here at bnc. mag-abang ka lang and you can also get good camera deals there for your budget.

if you need those features from samsung...buy a samsung....no brand will do magic to your pictures...all these cameras will still depend on how you use them....i've seen pictures with samsung and they are comparable to canon or sony.

try browsing on the links below for the sample of images coming from samsung cameras...you can do the same for canon or sony:

    canon: http://www.pbase.com/cameras/canon

    sony: http://www.pbase.com/cameras/sony
